Web site hosting is simply the business of housing, serving, and maintaining files for one or more Web sites.

 

The subject of the AFM (American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada) providing its members, Locals and Conferences with low-cost, full featured web hosting services was first introduced during IT Committee discussions in 2006.

 

AFM President Tom Lee later requested that a specific plan of action be developed by the Freelance Services Division to address the concept. The resulting plan was unanimously approved by the IEB (International Executive Board) at its September, 2007 meeting. As a result, AFM GoPro Hosting becomes the latest exclusive (members only) benefit to be offered by the Federation. It joins a long list of benefits and services that truly address the needs of today's professional musicians.
